Performance Strategist & Keynote Speaker

Increase Engagement.
Elevate Thinking.
Drive Performance.

Chris Marvel partners with organizations, schools, and universities to solve disengagement, burnout, and inconsistent performance — by teaching people how to think, regulate, and execute under pressure.

This is not motivation. This is a performance system. Using psychology, behavioral science, and real-world application, Chris helps institutions increase engagement, strengthen decision-making, and drive measurable outcomes — from Fortune 500 boardrooms to K–12 classrooms to university campuses.

About the Strategist

From the Inner City
To the Main Stage

Chris Marvel was raised in Cleveland, Ohio — in an era defined by inner-city drugs, violence, and economic uncertainty. He grew up surrounded by obstacles that were designed to hold him back. But he didn’t stay there.

He rose past every barrier to become a college graduate, a published author, a business owner, a devoted family man, and a man of God — and now he pours his heart, love, and mind into people across the world. His mission is singular: to help people become resilient, gritty, transformational, and determined — people who push past their comfort zone in order to grow, achieve, and become great.

Today, Chris is a performance strategist and keynote speaker who uses psychology, behavioral science, and real-world application to help organizations and institutions increase engagement, elevate thinking, and drive measurable performance outcomes. As founder of Pivot Training & Development alongside co-founder Jazmine Davis, Chris has built a performance development company headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio and Atlanta, Georgia that is reshaping how organizations approach execution, engagement, and culture.

The Standard

If nothing is different by Monday, it didn’t work

Most organizations answer a strained team by buying something people can attend. A pizza party. A wellness week. A poster with a hotline on it. None of those are bad — what’s bad is buying one instead of changing the thing that made it necessary, and calling that a response.

💬

Name what’s actually happening

Every booking starts with a conversation about what the room is carrying — staff, students, or school leaders. Not a topic picked off a shelf months earlier and delivered whatever walks in.

🧠

Give them something to run on

Psychology and behavioral science, applied to the pressure people are under right now. The room doesn’t just feel better for an hour — people leave with something they can use on Monday.

👥

Equip the person closest to them

A strategy is only ever delivered by the manager, the principal, the teacher in the room. Equipping that layer is the difference between a plan and a change.

📊

Show you, don’t promise you

Chris doesn’t leave when the applause stops. Where it fits, a short baseline before and after shows what actually moved. Everyone promises impact. He’d rather show you.

Signature Keynotes & Workshops

Keynote Talks That Drive Results

Every keynote is shaped to the room before he arrives, and customizable for corporate, K–12, university, and nonprofit audiences. Available as 60-minute keynotes, half-day workshops, full-day training, or multi-session programs.

Pressure Is a Privilege

Performance is revealed under pressure — not in comfort. This keynote teaches high performers how to reframe stress as fuel, build execution habits under pressure, and develop team-wide psychological performance systems. Ideal for corporate leadership teams and high-performance organizations.

👁

The Invisible Injury

The hidden barriers that silently erode performance, culture, and retention. This keynote helps organizations recognize the thinking patterns that drive disengagement — and install systems that shift individuals from reactive behavior to intentional execution. Perfect for school districts, HR teams, and universities.

💡

The What If Effect

Based on Chris Marvel’s bestselling book — a framework for breaking through the mental barriers that keep people stuck. Transform fear-based thinking into possibility-driven strategy and unlock the next level of performance. A keynote for anyone ready to execute at a higher level.

Take the Bat Off Your Shoulders

For students. Chris was twelve, facing the best pitcher in the league, and had already decided not to swing — until a coach yelled five words from the dugout. Built on his own story of losses, mistakes and setbacks, this assembly leaves students understanding that where they are right now does not have to determine where they finish. Their circumstances are not their identity.

What makes this different from a motivational speaker?

A motivational talk is measured by how the room felt on the day. Chris works to a harder standard: if nothing is different by Monday, it didn’t work. He uses psychology, behavioral science, and real-world application to deliver a performance system that transforms how people think, behave, and execute — across corporate teams, classrooms, and campuses.

What organizations has Chris worked with?

Chris has delivered keynotes and training for Johnson & Johnson, Cleveland Metropolitan School District, Clark County Schools, Head Start, and has coached professional athletes from the NFL and NBA including Lamar Odom, Terrell Owens, and Ted Ginn Jr. He works across corporate, K–12, university, and nonprofit sectors.
